We include 6 AA rechargeable batteries with every RemoBell purchase, at no extra cost!
If you notice your batteries are low, you can replace them with regular AA batteries, or you can charge the batteries and place them back into the device once theyâre fully charged. You can purchase chargers from Amazon by clicking here.
Sometimes, the rechargeable batteries are not 100% charged even though they are new batteries. In this case, you may notice the device does not display the battery as fully charged. The batteries may not last 4 months for these cases, but will need to be charged sooner. Once the batteries are fully charged, they will last 4 months (depending on usage).

In the Smart Home industry, the biggest trend among security cameras is outdoor wireless video doorbells. For those of you who do not know what wireless video doorbells are, in a nutshell, they are security cameras that connect to your WiFi so that you may monitor the outside of your door through your phone when a guest rings.
The popular misconception with wireless video doorbell is that there is an assumption they do not need to be connected to a power cable. That is not completely true. The âwirelessâ part means that you do not need an ethernet wire to connect your device to the Internet.
By looking at the title of this blog, you probably can piece together that there are video doorbells that are wireless in every sense of the word. Battery powered doorbells are also available, but which one is better?
Place it anywhere you want
When you have a wire powered video doorbell, your video doorbell placement is excluded to where the pre-existing doorbell was. The perks of battery powered video doorbell is that you can install the device anywhere around your house: your front door, your porch, your backyard, or maybe even by your master bedroom. There is more freedom with battery powered doorbell since– the power source is within the device.
Winner: Battery Powered Doorbell
Batteries, at one point or another, you are gonna have to switch them out. The good thing about Battery Powered Doorbells is that most devices last for at least 4 months and they come with rechargeable batteries; however, if youâve already installed a wired power doorbell, then power shouldnât be an issue.
Winner: Wire Powered DoorBell
With battery powered doorbells, all you need to do is connect the device to your app through your WiFi. Imagine unscrewing your pre-existing doorbell, handling electrical wires, messing with the breaker, and hoping your house has enough power to power the doorbell. Itâs a nightmare, and thatâs why many customers who own a wired powered doorbell needs to call in an installer to set up their camera.
Winner: Battery Powered Doorbell
Wire powered video doorbells, most products can shoot up to 1080p resolution, while battery powered video doorbells can only go up 720p. In this aspect, wire powered video doorbells are clearly the winner; however, internet plays a huge factor in resolution. If your internet is not as good, then your 1080p can drop down to 480p the whole time you use your camera. The doorbell comparison on resolution can always vary.
Don’t have electrical wires?
Do you live in an apartment? Do you have a gate? Do you live in the city where there are no doorbells? These are the limitation with wired powered doorbells. If you donât have a pre-existing doorbell, then you have a $200 device collecting dust in your garage. With Battery powered video doorbells, you donât need to live in a suburban home to surveillance your front door. Itâs accessible.
Winner: Battery Powered Doorbell
In the end, Battery Powered Doorbells are more convenient, easy to setup, accessible, and with less limitation. However, if you are looking for a doorbell that does not require the constant changing of batteries and better resolution, then wire powered video doorbells is a good option. The facts are on the table, it is your choice to decide which wireless security camera is the right fit for you.

We are excited to share with our Olive & Dove (formerly Remocam) customers that our brand identity has evolved after our acquisition.
Here are the few things that have changed.
1. Company Name and Logo
Remocam, Inc is now Olive & Dove Inc.
This change is meant to reflect our companyâs direction. We are no longer only making security cameras, but we will be introducing various Smart Home devices to the customers, such as our video doorbell. Olive branches have been traditionally the symbol of âpeace.â
Doves have been regarded as the medium that bring this peace. Our hope is to bring the peace and security in every customerâs home with our products and technology.
2. Companyâs tagline
Our old tagline: Take care of loved ones with more control
New tagline: Smart. Intuitive. Caring.
We wanted a bold, to-the-point, and assuring message for our customers. We promise to offer smart and intuitive products and softwares that reflect our caring heart for the customersâ needs. Our tagline is the reflection of our customers.
Our customers are smart and intuitive people who care about their family, friends, parents, children, dogs, cats, hamsters, snakes, fish,…and more!
3. RemoCamâs Capitalization and Logo
First off, RemoCam will be no longer be written as âRemocam.â The âCâ in the middle will now be capitalized: RemoCam. This is so that when we create future products in âRemoâ series, other products can follow the same pattern. For example, our next product, a wireless video doorbell, will be called RemoBell. (Remo + Doorbell = RemoBell!)
Second, RemoCamâs logo has changed in order to reflect our new brand identity. As our new tagline is âSmart. Intuitive. Caring.,â we wanted a simple, to-the-point, and bold logo image to go with it. The âOâ in RemoCam is the same âOâ from Olive & Dove company logo. This âOâ is the connecting medium between the product logo and the company logo.
With  this evolved and refreshed brand image, Olive & Dove will continuously strive to provide the best Smart Home products and services.

If you did not, you will need to give the app access to these files. You can do this by going to your phone’s settings, then application manager, click RemoBell, go to permissions and then select storage. Please give RemoBell access to all settings.
Sometimes the videos will take a few minutes to be displayed on the Recent Activity Log. This depends on the strength of the Wi-Fi RemoBell and your phone are using.
If you still canât find your videos and you have a Cloud plan, send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and weâll be happy to help you!
Remocam, a Smart Home device manufacturer and software developer, gets acquired by a South Korean KOSDAQ-listed company
San Francisco, November 4th, 2016
Remocam, a Smart Home hardware and software developer, has been acquired by Exa E&C, Inc (KOSDAQ 054940). Consequently, it will also change its company name from Remocam to Olive and Dove. It is following the suite of its competitors like Dropcam, which was acquired by Google and Nest, Piper by iControl – though they became separate companies after a year or so, and Withings by Nokia.
Remocam was founded in March 2015 and launched its first product, RemoCam, a Smart Home security camera, in October 2015. The acquisition happened at an interesting timing since Olive and Dove is about to launch its second product, RemoBell, a smart doorbell, which will compete with Ring and August doorbell.
Exa E&C Inc. is a special interior manufacturer in South Korea that makes Clean Rooms and high-end partitions. It has recently expanded its business to Vietnam.
Here is the story of how these two met. Olive and Doveâs parent company, ODC, Inc, introduced the very first Smart Home security camera to South Korea back in 2013. Ever since then, ODC Co., Ltd. became a pioneer of the Internet of Things market in South Korea by providing white-labeled Smart Home security cameras as well as proprietary Cloud server platform services to multiple national carriers in South Korea.
As a high-tech interior manufacturer, Exa E&C naturally became interested in the emerging IoT industry because they may be able to incorporate Smart Home technology into their expertise. Upon studying this new market in South Korea, Exa E&C execs found the level of technology at ODC was at the caliber of a global business. They soon learned that ODC had founded its subsidiary company, Remocam, Inc. in USA in 2015. Seeing its potential as one of the leading Smart Home device manufacturer as well as Smart Home software developer, Exa E&C decided to acquire ODC, which meant they also acquired Remocam, Inc (Now Olive and Dove).
The managing director of Olive and Dove, Paul Lee, remarked, âThis canât be any more timely. We are about to launch our second product, RemoBell, a HD video doorbell after launching RemoCam, a Smart Home security camera. This acquisition and the consequent financial support will boost our sales and marketing activities for both RemoBell and Remocam. I canât wait to deliver better Smart Home devices, web and app services to the customers in US and eventually to the world.â
The chairman of Exa E&C Inc., Cha K Koo, said, âODC is a leading IoT company in South Korea. It set an industry standard in video encryption by introducing video encoding in order to ensure the privacy and protection and demonstrates the companyâs leadership and competency. We see the potential in this company to become #1 in the world as well.â
Olive and Dove plans to launch its second product, RemoBell in November, 2016.
